Connecting the dots…

Trust in your team

Trusting that your team is capable is beneficial for everyone. Your team feels empowered and takes responsibility for getting stuff done. You can focus on the work you need to do, knowing that others are doing the same.

It’s not easy though, especially if you’re used to micro-managing. You have to let go of the need to control everything. But you’ll only do this if you truly embrace the belief that people are generally good and want to do the right things. You’ll also have to change your way of interacting with your team. Servant leadership becomes your default leadership style, supporting your team as needed rather than commanding them.

A significant benefit of this way of working is that you can go on leave without worrying if everything is going to be alright, because you know that even if everything isn’t alright, your team will do their best to sort it all out, and that autonomy is making everyone stronger and more purposeful.
